Early Learning & Puppy Foundations

Every Black Canyon Corral puppy begins learning long before joining their forever family. Through daily interaction, positive experiences, and age-appropriate enrichment, we introduce our puppies to the skills and confidence they need for a successful transition into their new homes.

Our goal is not to create fully trained puppies, but to provide a strong foundation that makes future training easier for both puppies and their families.

Our puppies are introduced to:

• Early potty training routines-Many of our buyers rave about how few if any accidents their puppies have and how easily they were to fully potty train!

• Crate training foundations

• Individual handling and daily socialization

• Name recognition (You tell us which name you chose and we will use it!)

• Positive human interaction

• Children and family activities

• Everyday household sounds

• Grooming and nail trimming

• Car rides (Puppies see our veterinarian a minimum of twice before leaving)

• Novel objects and confidence-building experiences

• Age-appropriate toys, climbing, and enrichment activities

• Beginning leash and collar introductions (when developmentally appropriate)

Every puppy develops at their own pace, but many of our families tell us they are surprised by how quickly their puppy settles into their new home and begins learning.
